Minto shuts municipal facilities to stop the spread of COVID-19

The Town of Minto is responding to the growing number of COVID-19 cases by temporarily shutting down municipal facilities with limited exceptions. There are currently 28 active cases of COVID-19 in Minto.

The Town of Minto municipal building is closed until January 4th, 2022. However, Depending on case counts, the municipal office may remain closed to the public.

Essential services such as fire, water, wastewater, and road maintenance will be the only departments with staff operating at the municipal office over the closure period.

People should try to use electronic communication as all staff contact information can be found at town.minto.on.ca

The Town of Minto has closed all Town operated recreational facilities until January 3, 2022 at the earliest.  All Town run programs such as public skating, shinny, walking groups and pickleball are cancelled as of this date. The Norgan Theatre will remain closed to the public from December 23rd, 2021 – January 3rd, 2022. The Fire and Ice event scheduled for December 31, 2021 is also cancelled.

Town of Minto staff are working with local public health officials to bring more vaccination clinics to this area. All residents are encouraged to book their covid19 booster shot as soon as it’s available to them.
