Woman injured in machete attack

London police say a woman escaped with minor injuries after she was attacked with a machete.

According to police, two women got into a fight on Dundas Street near Talbot Street around 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

“One of the women struck the other with a machete,” police said. “The victim fled from the suspect and called 9-1-1.”

Emergency crews responded to the scene and a suspect was arrested. A machete was seized by officers.

A 30-year-old woman is charged with assault with a weapon. She was released from custody with a court date of January 12, 2022.
