London council briefs: Council pay, election signs and conference hosting

City politicians endorsed a new committee to analyze councillor pay on Tuesday. The council compensation review committee this year will be made up of two retired lawyers, a political scientist, an accountant and a human resources professional. If the group is approved by council later this month, Don Bryant, Dan Ross, Joe Lyons, Christene Scrimgeour and Jeff Tudhope will review the most recent data on median full-time pay in London — councillor salaries are tied to that metric — and make recommendations for any changes in how councillors should be paid.
