Health care associations share concerns about a stretched system and stressed workers
Two national health associations will share their thoughts about what they consider a stressed health system.
The Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Nurses Association held an emergency summit Tuesday night, outlining the affects COVID-19 has had on the system and its workers.
The summit brought together more than 30 national and provincial health organizations.
Wednesday’s briefing is scheduled for 10 a.m.
Some of the worries shared by the associations about the health care system include significant backlogs of surgeries that could affect the quality of life of patients for years to come, the well-being of health care workers and the stagnating vaccination rates.
