Charges laid in suspicious fire

A 34-year-old man is now charged in connection with a fire that caused hundreds of thousand of dollars in damage.

The London Fire Department was called to a residence on Waterloo Street near Simcoe Street around 6:30 p.m. on September 22. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. But the blaze did an estimated $600,000 dollars in damage to two residences.

Police announced on Wednesday that they had arrested a suspect.

A 34-year-old man of no fixed address is charged with one count of arson with disregard for human life and one count of arson causing damage to property.
