Since the early 2000s, a collaborative partnership between local, state, and federal agencies formed the Michigan Hydro Relicensing Coalition with the goal to increase lake sturgeon recruitment and survival to adulthood, and led to the installation of a fish elevator to transfer sturgeon upriver on Wisconsin’s Menominee River.
