Huron Hospice enjoys second There’s No Place Like Home fundraiser

The Huron Hospice enjoyed a very successful fundraiser last week.

The hospice hosted their second There’s No Place Like Home telethon, which was first introduced last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many regular fundraising events had to be cancelled, so the hospice decided to host a live television event featuring local entertainers and artists to raise money instead. This year the entertainers were from Bayfield, Goderich, Port Albert, Clinton, Seaforth, Blake and as far away as Hollywood and all had Huron County roots. Many even had family experiences with the hospice. The fundraiser ended up with a final tally of $84,162.

The Blyth Festival’s Gil Garratt and Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb returned as emcees. The show is still available to rewatch online on the Huron Hospice Facebook page ( or on their website
