Huron County’s Economic Development Team is re-launching the Taste of Huron promotion.
Economic Development Officer, Alex Ripley, says the Taste of Huron brand has been around for some time. “What’s new this time around is the Taste of Huron name is going to be attached to a mobile app and the mobile app is a platform that you’ll be able to use via your cell phone to collect and ultimately redeem, points at participating local businesses.”
Ripley says, at this point, they have just over twenty businesses on board and it will grow from there. He says the initial cohorts, and for the foreseeable future, will be focusing on culinary tourism, local food businesses, breweries, wineries, cideries, so that’s why it has the Taste of Huron name attached to it.
Ripley says they’ll be launching the program at the end of September as part of a larger campaign promoting the harvest season and local food generally this fall. “The initial cohorts, and it’ll be this way for the foreseeable future, will be focusing on culinary tourism, local food businesses, breweries, wineries, cideries, so that’s why it has the Taste of Huron name attached to it.”
Ripley says more information about the program will be posted on the Huron County Economic Development web site closer to the end of the month.
