Golf courses in Midwestern Ontario remain open

Golf courses across the province will be allowed to stay open through the Ontario’s stay-at-home order.

Robyn Doig is with the Seaforth Golf Club and says it will be similar to last year with all courses respecting the health unit protocols.

“So we have now a new screening process that everyone has to go through when they enter the facility, before they come down to check in,” said Doig. “And then we have physical distancing rules throughout the entire property and inside we have limiting numbers.”

The province announced the stay-at-home order Wednesday afternoon but it wasn’t until later in the day that it was confirmed that golf courses would still be able to keep their flags in on the greens.

“We’re outdoors, its recreation, it’s good for your physical and mental health,” added Doig.
